Washington State Racing Pigeon Organization

WSRPO NW section winner:

Jerry King, Everett, WA

“My bird is AU 09 Everett 4061 BBSPC and I named him "
High 'N Dry"

He is a cross of Janssen X Hofkens X Fabry and was a YB gift to me from Terry Dry, of Marysville, WA, last year. His sire is a bird bred for Terry by the Vegas Connection Loft from Mike Ganus pigeons. On his sire's side, "High 'N Dry" is a great grandson of "Hollywood" (1st Nat. Ace OB all Holland in 1997) and of "Millennium" (1st Nat. Ace middle dist. N.P.O. of 1998). "High 'N Dry's" dam is a Fabry bred by Roger Revenaugh, now living in the Bay Area, line bred to Roger's old foundation breeder hen, AU 92 VIK 2014 BBsp, from Langenberger & Belka loft. "2014" has been responsible for many winning pigeons for Roger over the years.

"High 'N Dry" was flown to races out to 345 mi. as a YB and was flying on the widowhood system when he flew the Winnemucca, NV race.”

"High 'N Dry" AU 09 Everett 4061 BBSPC (526m; 535ypm; 6 lofts & 39 birds)

WSRPO SW section winner:

From John Ceciliani from Troutdale, OR for John & Harry Loft

Border Jumper 10 is a Fabry x Leen Boer cross. These Fabry and Boer families have been flying from the East into the Portland area for many years. My loft sits about 30 air miles to the west of Mt. Hood. That means the most dangerous and challenging portion of every race is the last 75 miles.

If you were to draw a line from Oregon Trail Combine's race release points to my loft the line would go straight over Mt. Hood's Timberline Lodge. To clock with competitive speeds these Border Jumpers need to skirt the Cascade timberlines of Mt Hood and stay on line. Most of the time that means head winds and low visibility. Border Jumpers are as tough they get.”

"Border Jumper 10" IF 09 PIC 9955 Blue Check Cock (392m; 1003ypm; 7 lofts & 46 birds)

WSRPO SE section winner:

From John Hundrup of Clarkston, WA

“Attached is a photo of 5176 that I took this evening, after he came home this morning from Carson City (500m rain smash with no day birds. Three weeks after the Western Open). He was my second bird home today.

I received both of his parents from Mike Shippert and Lew Digby from IL, who are partners, with Mike doing the breeding and raising of the birds and Lew does the flying. (I received several pairs of breeders from Mike) in trade for some fancy birds.

Mike was the breeder of both of the parent birds to 5176. The dam of 5176, 03 No Fear 325, is bred from 73/Vanloon breeding. She is a granddaughter of Super Secret X Missy, and Avenger X Missy. The sire, 03 No Fear 356, is Janssen-based. He is a grandson of Kanon X a granddaughter of Jonge Rocket, and Colleen X son of Douglas.

5176  has never missed a race since I started flying him in young birds in 2005.” (That means: He’s gone to EVERY race, EVERY season since he was a 2005 YB!)

“Ironman” AU 05 CAMP 5176 BCC (375m; 1515ypm; 10 lofts & 152 birds)

WSRPO NE section winner:

From Steve Lawler of Newman Lake, WA for the Diamond Loft:

AU-07-SPO-1323 is a medium-sized blue check hen. She had a poor YB season being lost during training and returned six days into the season. She eventually went to 5 races making the clock only once and never scored a point on the sheet. Cull material, right?

She went to nine races as a yearling in 2008. She earned a few points from the 200m early and a 325m later in the season finishing 10th overall as the loft’s first bird home. She failed to score three more times that same station later that same year.

We didn’t fly OB’s in 2009 because of a knee replacement and the birds went to a 160 trainer before the season.

She went to 7 races this year winning the 200m and finished 18th (loft’s first bird) at the 265m, and winning the 467m Winnemucca. She must have found a boyfriend. Motivation works wonders. Flying Roundabout.

Her sire is a “Wetzelneck” (absolutely pure 5-6 way cross from Bonwell’s “Wetzel Pair” and “Redneck” Janssens from Vern Kolivas) via Harlan Fullner of Colo Springs and the dame is a pure Van Elsacker/Ludo Classsens/Muelemanns/Vermissen-Mols cross from Larry Rueber of Hermiston, OR. She’s a pigeon, period.

“North Star” AU-07-SPO-1323 BCH (467m; 1512 ypm; 8 lofts & 86 birds)
